こんにちは、M2の本條です。アメリカのUniversity of Rhode IslandからMr. Russoが来日されましたので、Dingさんの会に続いてご当地料理パーティーと自己紹介プレゼンを行ってもらいました。
以下Mr. Russoに自己紹介と「Philly Cheesesteak」の説明をしていただきます。
Hello all, I am a Jack Russo, a 22 year old from Rhode Island, USA. As an international exchange student who has just completed my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering I am incredibly excited with the opportunity to broaden my expertise by learning interdisciplinary studies like NDE methods in Dr.Yusa's laboratory. I received had a very warm welcome were I cooked an American staple, the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, for my new lab coworkers. A Philly Cheesesteak is a generous serving of thinly shaved steak, sliced onions, and plenty of melted cheese, all served on a long submarine sandwich roll. I added a little hometown influence by including mushrooms and peppers as well. Overall it was a great introduction and I think I can fit in here well.
アメリカのイメージ通り、ジャンキーで美味でした。
今回振舞ってくれた「Philly Cheesesteak」は、アメリカ誕生の地とも呼ばれるフィラデルフィア発祥だそうです。パンに炒めた野菜と牛肉とチーズを挟んで作るサンドウィッチ的な料理で、アメリカらしいジャンキーで食べ応えのある料理でした。
3か月という短い間ですが、宮城での生活を楽しんでもらえるよう、一緒に色々な場所に行ければと思います。
