Hello this is Axel, speaking about the lunch party using French ingredients. From Professor Yusa's business trip to France, instant noodles and yakisoba, instant mash potatoes and sweetened condensed milk were brought back.
With the last ingredient, I have made a French dessert called "flan" : a sort of pudding but less smooth and less jelly.
こんにちは、アクセルです。今回はフランス食材を使ったランチパーティーについてお話しします。遊佐教授はフランス出張で、インスタントラーメンと焼きそば、インスタントマッシュポテト、そして加糖練乳をお土産に買ってきてくれました。
加糖練乳を使って、フランスのデザート「フラン」を作ってみました。プリンのようなものですが、ゼリー状ではなく、少し固めです。
It simply needs this sweetened condensed milk, sugar, milk and eggs.
About the recipe, first the caramel is made from the sugar and then put at the bottom of the baking pan. Then mix the eggs, condensed milk and normal milk together before putting that on top of the previous caramel. At that step, because the baking pan is made of two parts, some of the preparation spread out of it. Hopefully, it needs to be put in another container to cook it in a bain-marie in the oven, so only a part of the preparation went out of the main baking pan !
After one night of rest at the refrigerator, it is ready.
材料は加糖練乳、砂糖、牛乳、卵だけです。
作り方は、まず砂糖でキャラメルを作り、焼き型に敷きます。次に卵、練乳、牛乳を混ぜ合わせ、キャラメルの上に流し込みます。この時、焼き型が2つに分かれているため、生地の一部がはみ出してしまいました。幸い、オーブンで湯煎焼きするために別の容器に入れていたので、メインの焼き型からはみ出した生地はごくわずかでした。
冷蔵庫で一晩寝かせれば出来上がりです。
With the remaining sweetened condensed milk, that was the occasion to try a new thing : using it in mashed potatoes (instead of normal milk). With 40mL of it, it tasted sweeter than usual, as if the mashed potatoes were made from sweet potatoes. That was a nice discovery that I will do again in the future when coming back to my home country !
残っていた加糖練乳を使って、新しいことに挑戦してみました。マッシュポテトに（普通の牛乳の代わりに）加藤練乳を使ってみたのです。40mlほど入れてみたところ、いつもより甘みが強く、まるでサツマイモで作ったようなマッシュポテトになりました。これは嬉しい発見で、帰国したらまた試してみたいと思います！
About the noodles, the chicken noodles from the Japanese brand "Ajinomoto" were the closest to Japanese noodles. The yakisoba from the French brand "Tanoshi Japon" belonged well from the family of yakisoba, but it differed from the one I have tried here in Japan.
インスタントラーメンと焼きそばについては、日本のブランド「味の素」のチキンヌードルが日本の麺に近い味でした。フランスのブランド「楽しい日本」の焼きそばも焼きそばっぽくはありましたが、日本で食べたものとは少し違いました。
That was a great experience to eat in Japan, French noodles which imitates Japan.
日本で、日本の麺を模したフランスの麺を食べるという、素晴らしい経験でした。
