Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), in which Tohoku University has joined since 2008, invites global scholars from member universities to a two-day symposium on global Military Veteran policy.
This event will take place in Los Angeles on May 17-19, 2017 and will provide a forum for in-depth discussions on issues related to the health and welfare of military veterans in the Pacific Rim.

To encourage broad intellectual engagement and debate, we are seeking papers on a range of topics consistent with the thematic pillars of the symposium which will be delivered as part of panel discussions – the principle themes of this year’s symposium will focus of on four pillars:
– Disability and Compensation
– Suicide
– GI Bill
– Successful Transition to Civilian Life
The above list represents the symposium thematic pillars but it is not exhaustive in its scope and we welcome proposals that explore new directions in action oriented research from a range of approaches that touch on the symposium themes.

Please submit a 300 word abstract and a 1-page CV by 1 December, 2016.
