Representatives from INSA Lyon, Centrale Lyon, and CNRS visit President Tominaga

On March 9, in conjunction with the commemorative celebration of ELyTMaX and ELyTGlobal’s 10th anniversary that was held at Tohoku University, France’s INSA Director Frédéric Fotiadu, Centrale Lyon Director Pascal Ray, and Director of the CNRS Institute for Engineering and Systems Sciences (INSIS) Lionel Buchaillot visited the university and met with President Teiji Tominaga. In addition to President Tominaga, university representatives included Executive Vice Presidents Toshiya Ueki and Asako Sugimoto, as well as Chief Global Officer Marie-Pierre Favre.

At the meeting and following President Tominaga’s opening remarks, INSA Lyon Director Fotiadu and the other representatives from the French delegation expressed their gratitude for the collaborations that have occurred to date through ELyTMaX activities and their hopes for strengthened cooperation going forward.

Both sides discussed possible research fields in which to collaborate moving forward and, as Tohoku University has now become a University for International Research Excellence, they also discussed the possibility of expanding beyond research into various kinds of cooperative activities. With ELyTMaX and ELyTGlobal entering their next decade, further strengthening of collaborative efforts is expected.

※Engineering and Science Lyon Tohoku (ELyT) is a cooperative joint framework between Tohoku University and institutions in Lyon under which initiatives related to research and education are carried out. ELyTMaX and ELyTGlobal, described below, also fall under the ELyT framework.
