Online event: The 8th German-Japanese University Presidents’ Conference

The German-Japanese University Network (HeKKSaGOn) was established in 2010 as a foundation to further develop international cooperation and exchange of ideas in education, research and innovation fields to further advance science, technology, industry and culture between member universities. The six research-intensive universities from Germany and Japan place a strong value on high-quality teaching within an environment of internationally competitive research.

On September 9-10, 2021 Tohoku University is hosting the 8th German-Japanese University Presidents’ Conference, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Tokyo. The theme for the conference is “How universities can contribute to building healthy, safe and resilient societies”.
This digital event will gather presidents, researchers and students from all HeKKSaGOn member universities.
There will be a meeting of the presidents, an academic conference, a virtual poster session by early-career researchers, and a plenary session. The academic conference will be broadcast live. The link is due to be announced on a special website in early September.
