A visit from Smt. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, Ambassador of India to Japan

On October 17th 2014, Smt. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, Ambassador of India to Japan, Dr. Chadaram Sivaji (Counsellor, Science & Technology) and their party paid a courtesy visit to President Satomi and Executive Vice President Ueki and discussed academic exchange between India and Tohoku University.

In the discussion, Professor Hideo Miura explained the International Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Course (IMAC), and about the several Indian students enrolled in it.

Additionally, the participants listened to a presentation on the current status of Indian universities by Dr. Sivaji.

Ambassador Wadhwa expressed her hope that collaborative research between universities in India and Tohoku University will continue to advance, as well as expressing her desire to use the embassy’s abilities to further academic exchanges between the two countries.
