On June 3rd, 2015, Dr. Sergei Chizhik, First Deputy Chairman of the National Academy of Science of Belarus and his associates visited Tohoku University in order to see our cutting-edge research.
The group visited the Institute for Materials Research (IMR), where Prof. Takashi Matsuoka explained his research, followed a visit to his laboratories, where they viewed actual experiments currently underway.
After this, the group visited the Research Institute of Electrical Communication (RIEC), where Prof. Satoshi Shioiri gave a brief overview of the institute, followed by a tour of Prof. Yoshifumi Kitamura’s research laboratory.
Lastly, the group visited the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), where Prof. Yoshiyuki Kawazoe explained his research activities, and engaged in an exchange of opinions regarding academic exchanges with Belarus.
The group showed a great deal of interest in Tohoku University’s research, and expressed their hope to carry out cooperative research in the future.
