On November 13th, 2015 Hugo Bague, Group executive, Organisational Resources of Rio Tinto visited President Susumu Satomi and Executive Vice President Kimio Hanawa.
After the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, Rio Tinto created the “Rio Tinto-Komatsu Scholarship” to financially support Tohoku University students. President Satomi used this meeting to once again express his sincerest appreciation for this support.
Mr. Bague expressed this Rio Tinto’s support will not just be limited to this scholarship: in addition, this global company will offer internship opportunities, and further future exchanges as well.
Following the meeting, Mr. Bague toured University House Katahira, and met with three recipients of the Rio Tinto-Komatsu Scholarship.
