On January 28th, 2016, Professor Johan A. J Verreth, Director of Graduate School Wageningen Institute of Animal Sciences at Wageningen University (Netherlands) paid a courtesy visit on Tohoku University Associate Executive Vice President Masahiro Yamaguchi. Vice Dean Prof. Masaaki Toyomizu, Associate Professor Tomonori Nochi, and General Manager Masayuki Shida (Graduate School of Agricultural Science / Faculty of Agriculture) also attended the meeting. Those attendees expressed a solid desire to proceed in student and research exchange in the future during their discussions.
Professor Verreth visited the university to conclude a department level academic exchange agreement between the Department of Animal Sciences at Wageningen University and the Graduate School of Agricultural Science / Faculty of Agriculture at Tohoku University, and made use of the occasion to also have discussions.
Those present shared their hopes that this academic exchange agreement will lead to further collaboration between the two institutions.
