Central South University Vice President Zhou Kechao met with Executive Vice President Toshiya Ueki during a visit to Tohoku University on August 8.
Associate Executive Vice President for International Affairs Masahiro Yamaguchi, Professor Koki Takanashi (Director, Institute for Materials Research) and Professor Akihiko Chiba (Institute for Materials Research) were also at the meeting. Among the topics discussed was the strengthening of research ties and future exchanges between the two universities, especially in the field of Materials Science.
After the meeting, the group toured the Institute for Materials Research, where Director Takanashi provided an overview of the work currently being done there.
Located in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province in China, Central South University was founded in 2000 with the merger of Hunan Medical University, Changsha Railway University, and Central South University of Technology. It is well known for its strength in the fields of Materials Science, Medicine, and Traffic and Transportation.
