Université de Lorraine Vice-President for International Strategy Visits Tohoku University

On May 15, Prof. Cécile Nouvel, Université de Lorraine (France) Vice-President for International Strategy, visited Tohoku University and met with Executive Vice President Masahiro Yamaguchi (International Strategy and Global Education Initiatives) and Chief Global Officer Dr. Marie-Pierre Favre.

 

During their meeting, the university leadership discussed developing even more effective cooperation based on the foundation laid by a program which had been running since 2020. In addition to talks on advancing joint research, the Université de Lorraine side made constructive suggestions on topics such as short-term student exchange programs and strengthening personnel exchange.

 

The delegation also toured the 3GeV synchrotron radiation facility NanoTerasu, had an informal meeting at the Center for Integrated Japanese Studies, and visited the Graduate School of Engineering where they showed keen interest in its cutting-edge equipment and engaged in deep discussions on potential future collaboration in various fields.

This visit is expected to further promote collaboration between the two universities and advance exchange in a variety of fields.
