On November 4, Dr. Ludovic Mé, the program director for cybersecurity at the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA), led a delegation visit to Tohoku University.
As a public research institution in France, INRIA specializes in computational science and serves as a major State Operator for the French government. In this role, it provides invaluable insights into the field of digital science and technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to contribute to maintaining the nationʼs digital sovereignty and accelerating its technological innovation.
The purpose of the delegationʼs visit was to deepen the guestsʼ understanding of Tohoku Universityʼs cybersecurity-related research and to strengthen the two institutionsʼ collaborations through greater interaction with the universityʼs cybersecurity research team.
During their visit, the delegation received an introduction to the universityʼs research in the field of cybersecurity from Provost and Executive Vice President (for Strategic Planning) Takafumi Aoki. In addition, the delegation met and discussed current research activities with the Tohoku University Cyberscience Centerʼs Associate Professor Hideaki Goto as well as the Resilient ICT Research Centerʼs Director Masugi Inoue.
The visit is expected to serve as a starting point for future research collaborations.
