On 10th November, Tohoku University was honoured to welcome Professor Rémi Barillon (Vice President) and Dr. Michèle Forté (Director of Maison Universitaire France-Japon) from Strasbourg University. As part of their visit, the pair met with Executive Vice-President Toshiya Ueki and VP-CGO Marie-Pierre Favre.
The group enjoyed a lively discussion, celebrating the strong links between Tohoku and Strasbourg as well as the MOU on Research Exchange signed by the two parties earlier this year. Looking forward, the group also discussed the possibility of an open call for exchanges and a joint-academic event in the near future.
The pair made a number of other stops, including the Graduate School of Arts and Letters, the Graduate School of Information Sciences, and the Institute for Materials Research. They also visited NanoTerasu, and explored possibilities for research exchange with representatives from each facility.
