Application for use
Q. Can company-belonging persons use MNC?
A. Yes, you can use MNC under joint research projects with laboratories of Tohoku University. If you cannot find any laboratories you can contact, please contact us from the inquiry form.
Q. To Whom should I contact for the usage procedure?
A. First of all, please check here. If you are still unsure, please contact us via the inquiry form.
Q. I cannot access the test server or the safety lecture page.
A. Please use the on-campus network, not the external network to access the test server. Only Tohoku Univ. Mail account holders can access the safety lecture. For off-campus users, please check here.
Q. I took a safety lecture and passed the test. Where should I submit the usage registration application?
A. Please check here. In the case of registration renewal procedure, please refrain from contacting us individually. Your laboratory staffs make the list of renewal members and submit to MNC.
Q. Is there an expiration date after registration for use?
A. Yes. An annual renewal procedure (taking the safety lecture and passing the test) is required. We will inform you about the details via our mailing list.
Billing
Q. Please tell me about the charges.
A. Basically, equipment usage fees, consumables, and technical guidance fees are charged according to the usage record. Please see the usage fee list.
Q. Is the usage fee charged according to the actual usage time?
A. No. It is according to the reservation time, so please make a reservation after making a well-considered experiment plan.
Q. How is the invoice issued?
A. The invoice will be sent to the laboratory representative the following month, which is closed at the end of each month.
Q. Is it possible to specify the financial resources for payment of usage fees?
A. Yes. You are asked to submit a document specifying the financial resources for payment for each invoice. However, you can only pay the operational budget or donations for the March usage and clean room entrance fee.
Facility
Q. What do I need to use MNC?
A. Please check here. Please bring your own room shoes. If you use the clean room, please bring your own clean wear and shoes. When pumping out liquefied nitrogen, you need special gloves.
Q. What kind of clean wear should I use?
Q. Can I use MNC at midnight?
A. Yes, you can after the registration for use. Please obey the rules for midnight use (on-campus only).
Q. This is my first time using a clean room, so please tell me how to use it.

Q. Is it possible to wash clean wear?
A. Yes. A washing machine and detergent are provided in the pre-cleanroom. Please contact the MNC staff for details.
Equipment
Q. I would like to discuss whether the desired experiment is possible with MNC.
A. Please contact us via the inquiry form.
Q. Since this is my first time using the machine/instrument, please tell me how to use it.
A. Please contact the responsible person listed in the responsible person list (on-campus only).
Q. Is it possible to cancel the equipment reservation?
A. Reservations one hour after the current time can be canceled. If you find that you cannot use the machine/instrument due to the out of order just before your using, please contact the MNC staff.

Q. My email address and the laboratory were changed. Please tell me the procedure for changing registration.

Q. Is there a parking space?
A. There is no private parking space, so please have a temporary parking permission issued at the Mechanical Engineering office and park in the designated space. (The parking space cannot be used at night.)
