Welcome to Kanamori & Okatani Laboratory / Inomata Laboratory
Nurturing lives, enriching lives, and developing industries. Light technology is essential in every situation. Since B.C., we have invented various tools that manipulate light by taking advantage of various substances that exist in nature. Using modern state-of-the-art microfabrication technology, it is possible to create artificial optical materials (metamaterials) that do not exist in nature, and this may change the common sense of light. In addition, by imitating the structure and function of living things and applying them technologically, that is, biomimetics, it is possible to manipulate light in unexpected ways.

Our laboratory aims to realize innovative light control devices and implement them in society. We are studying future technologies and applications of optical manipulation by fusing "nanophotonics, metamaterials, biomimetic optics" and "microfabrication, optical MEMS".
