We held a welcome party for our new members🌸

Hi everyone! This is Gakuhari, B4 student.

I’m happy to share that I’ve successfully finished my graduate school entrance exams and will be continuing on to graduate school!

Now that things have finally settled down a little, I’d like to start looking back on some of the events we had in the lab during the first semester — something I haven’t done on the blog in quite a while!

This time, I’ll be sharing some highlights from our welcome party for the new lab members, held on July 8 ✨

This year, we welcomed two new B3 students to the Iizuka Lab: Zhenhan Yu and Keito Egoshi!

First, a few words from Zhenhan:

“In the lab, I’m always thinking. At home, I’m always sleeping.”

Despite what he says, he can speak both English and Chinese with ease, and after only two years of studying Japanese, he already speaks it at an almost native level… Amazing! 👏

Next, a few words from Keito:

“Hi, I’m Keito Egoshi, a third-year undergraduate student. I’m looking forward to working hard on my studies and research at the Iizuka Lab while also enjoying all the different events along the way! Nice to meet you all!”

With his striking blond hair, it feels like he’s already bringing a fresh new vibe to the lab!

To welcome the two of them, we held an okonomiyaki and takoyaki party 🐙

They won’t officially start coming to the lab on a regular basis until next academic year, but we’re already looking forward to lab life with our new members! ✨
