Open Symposium "Mathematical Modeling for Metamaterials and Metasurfaces"

  Mathematical modeling is essential to understand highly intriguing physics in metamaterials and metasurfaces. Additionally, abstraction based on the mathematical modeling enables us to utilize machine learning for designing and realizing new concept devices with metamaterials and metasurfaces. Therefore, in this symposium, we focus on mathematical modeling for metamaterials and metasurfaces.

  "Meta" is a Greek word corresponding to higher or beyond in English. Needless to say, in science and technology, we attempt to understand and go beyond the nature. It is hence expected that the frontlines essentially contain a lot of "meta" things, which have not cognized so far. In this symposium, we are going to find such latent "meta" phenomena, organize the ideas, and extend the frontiers of metamaterial science and technology.

  Here we are inviting speakers studying on the frontline of theoretical and experimental research into mathematical modeling, information geometry, computer vision, spintronics, magnetics, photonics, optics as well as metamaterials and metasurfaces. Plenty of time for talks and discussion will be prepared in this symposium. We hope to generate exciting and stimulating discussion among those interested in this field.

  There is no dress-code in this symposium. We would like to keep atmospher for frank discussion in mind. Official language is English.
