Outline of youngsters ensemble project of laboratories and linkage centers attached to Tohoku University

This project was launched in the year 2015, as a part of the research institute linking project promoted by Tohoku University and Center linking body, for keeping focus on interaction between young researchers. It brings together members of working groups from various research institutes to plan and run activities for deepening the link between research institutes, with the motivation ‘research may become more enjoyable by expanding the circle of colleagues!’.
First, in the beginning of 2015, a youngster’s ensemble of young researchers was held in July, as the kick off meeting for mutually understanding the research contents of researchers from various research institutes. In October, “Ensemble grant-first stage” was carried out for inviting collaborative research between several research institutes and out of 27 applications, 10 were selected. In January 2016, research meeting of young researchers ensemble was held and the program consisted of lectures from guest speakers, presentation meeting for the selection of ensemble grants and study tour meeting for the Kakuda Space Center of JAXA.
Now, we are thinking of strengthening the connection between the research institutions further by enhancing these activities. We request your continuous understanding and cooperation in this regard.
