Welcome
This symposium aims to bring together transport network researchers in the field of Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) to debate both theoretical issues and algorithms for calculating solutions. This is the third symposium of the DTA symposium series, in which the first symposium was held in Leeds in 2006 and the second was held in Leuven in 2008. Abstracts are specifically welcomed on the following topics:
- Plausibility and properties of dynamic traffic models for DTA applications (e.g. bottleneck model, whole-link models, cell transmission models, microscopic models), based on theoretical considerations or empirical evidence.
- Demand models in DTA, e.g. route / departure time choice models for DTA applications.
- Solution algorithms, comparisons and/or computational considerations for DTA calculations.
- Relationships between model paradigms, e.g. day-to-day dynamic versus equilibrium approaches, analytic versus micro-simulation models, and philosophical aspects of DTA.
- Applications of DTA, e.g. traffic control, evaluating network performance and reliability, empirical studies.
- Dynamic OD estimation and calibration of DTA models.
As well as original contributions, we also welcome eposition papersf reviewing the state-of-the-art in any of these topics, as well as offers to stimulate and host round-table discussions on some topic of major interest. A particular aim in drawing up the final programme will be to give speakers ample time for presentation and discussion, especially in the key areas of wider interest.
Special Issues
Call for papers of special issues are now available. Visit the links below to download them:
- Journal of Advanced Transportation
- Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Transportmetrica
Authors are expected to submit a revised version of their paper after the conference, which must pass a review process before publication.
Any further information on the special issues will be placed on the website; please visit here.
