Research presented at iSIM2025 in New Orleans, USA (12-13 Jan 2025) and The 16th Joint MMM-Intermag Conference (13-17 Jan 2025).

Assoc. Prof. Kuwahata, Dr Aoki, Dr Loi, Mr Yamazaki and Prof. Yabukami attended iSIM2025 (12-13 Jan 2025) and The 16th Joint MMM-Intermag Conference (13-17 Jan 2025) in New Orleans, USA MMM and Intermag is the top conference in the field of magnetic engineering, and this is the world’s largest magnetic engineering conference, held jointly every three years. This was Yamazaki’s first time presenting at an international conference, but he managed to give two poster presentations in an impressive manner on his own without any help from the faculty. Many students from other countries attended the conference, which must have been stimulating for them. I hope that other students will follow Yamazaki’s lead and do their best to present at international conferences. Dr Aoki received the Best Poster Award for his research results on energy harvesting out of about 45 presentations. I think it was an easy-to-understand presentation using a demonstration machine. Congratulations to him. After the presentation, we enjoyed New Orleans specialities such as alligator, catfish, crayfish and oysters with beer. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, and there are many shops downtown where you can listen to live music, and it was lively until night. Yabukami couldn’t make it to iSIM 2025 due to flight cancellations and other problems, but Roy and Yamazaki covered his poster presentation and helped him out.
