Japanese whisky is regarded as one of the finest whiskies in the world. The tour will first visit Nikka Whisky Distillery, which was evaluated as 'perfect' by Masataka Taketsuru who studied in Scotland in the beginning of twentieth century and is regarded as the father of Japanese whisky. The attendees of the tour will acknowledge highly advanced bio-engineering.
After the distillery, the tour will take you to Yamadera located in Yamagata, next to Miyagi, prefecture. Yamadera is a temple situated at the top of mountain as its name implies (Yama and Dera stand for mountain and temple in Japanese, respectively). It was established in the 9th Century and now is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in North-East Japan. Visitors will be able to enjoy very beautiful scenery. Please note that we need to hike up a trail approximately for 30 minutes in order to reach the upper area of the temple. We would like to suggest you not to take formal shoes such as high heels. It is of course possible to enjoy shopping and sightseeing at the foot bottom of the mountain.
