International Collaboration between Japanese, British, and American
Universities to Create Resilient Societies

The Joint Workshop with UK Students, “Resilient Societies: from the Site of the Great East Japan Earthquake,” was held on Tohoku University’s Kawauchi Campus on July 1, 2024 (Mon.).
The four students from University College London selected as interns by the International Research Institute of Disaster Science gave presentations on their achievements. Over 20 people participated in this interactive workshop on creating resilient societies.
In addition to students from University College London, students from the University of York and University of East Anglia also participated.
They engaged in lively discussions with our students and it was a
meaningful learning opportunity for all involved.
