Research demonstrates that diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI/EDI) are integral to delivering research excellence and a world-leading research and innovation system. In the UK, it is recognised that research excellence underpinned by a strong commitment to tackling under-representation and promoting DEI/EDI are vital for advancing scientific knowledge that addresses global challenges and delivers social and economic benefits. However, institutional barriers and challenges remain in creating more inclusive and equitable research cultures and environments. A priority of UCL‘s research strategy is to support research excellence and impact and foster an inclusive and collegial research culture where researchers from diverse communities can fulfil their intellectual potential. In this talk, Prof. Lynn will introduce the UK and UCL‘s initiatives that promote DEI/EDI research culture and environment.
