ABSTRACT:
<\/strong>This event features two scholars who will present the cutting-edge of political science of postwar Japan. Chris Winkler will discuss the rise of a specific lineage of conservatism among intellectuals in postwar Japan. Sebastian Maslow sheds light on how North Korea became a way to create a discourse of state crisis that mandates the revision of Japan\u2019s postwar security institutions. Comments by Ikeda Ryo, professor in political science and international relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
<\/strong>Chris Winkler<\/strong> is Associate Professor in Political Science at the Seinan Gakuin University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebastian Maslow<\/strong> is Senior Lecturer in International Relations and Political Science in the Department of Global Studies at Sendai Shirayuri Women’s College<\/p>\n\n\n\n
