本研究室では，物理学に基づく実験や理論を駆使して「生体分子モーター」や「微生物の運動」といった生命現象の仕組みを解き明かし，その過程に見いだされる新規の物理現象を探求して物理学を発展させることを目指しています。さらに，生命現象から学んだ知識を，生体機能材料の開発や感染症研究の発展に役立てます。生命現象のような「柔らかいシステム」の物理学や工学に興味を持つ人を歓迎します。

Our laboratory aims to advance the field of physics by unraveling the mechanisms of biological phenomena, such as biomolecular motors and microbial motility, through a combination of physics-based experiments and theory. In this process, we explore novel physical phenomena to deepen our understanding of the laws of nature. Furthermore, we apply the insights gained from living systems to the development of functional biomaterials, as well as the advancement of infectious disease research. We welcome anyone interested in the physics and engineering of “soft systems” like those found in life.
