Since FY2019,Institute for Materials Research (IMR), Tohoku University has been started a new framework of “Global Institute for Materials Research Tohoku (GIMRT)” supported by MEXT in order to share the advanced research platform of IMR with global researchers to brings the advances in the materials sciences.
GIMRT also promotes research activities on nuclear materials and actinide material science through international collaboration at the International Research Center for Nuclear Materials Science, Oarai with Alpha-emitter lab, Sendai as a center of IMR. Therefore the organizers on the related for independent IMR workshops, such as
- Oarai Workshop(大洗研究会),
- Workshop of Laboratory of Alpha-Ray Emitters (アルファ研究会),
- Workshop on Radiation Effects in Materials(照射研究会): towards Irradiation 3.0,
- SCK-CEN joint workshop
have decided to hold the GIMRT Joint International Symposium on Radiation Effects in Materials and Actinide Science (GIMRT-REMAS) is a special joint symposium consisted of these three workshops.
All subjects on nuclear materials for current fission reactors and advanced fission or fusion reactors, actinide material science and related advanced characterization methods are appropriate for this symposium, including but not limited to:
- Nuclear Material Science and Engineering
- Advanced nuclear materials development and qualification.
- Modeling, theory, and fundamental studies of radiation effects, including advanced characterization methods.
- Cross cutting studies with other fields on materials science and engineering.
- Actinide Material Science
- Physics
- Chemical science
